Scientific Project Staff Member (prae doc or post doc)

The University of Vienna seeks to fill the position of a Scientific Project Staff Member (prae doc or post doc) at the Research Group Software Architecture starting as soon as possible.

The focus of the research group (led by Dr. Uwe Zdun) is on research in the areas of software architecture, software design, and software engineering. The group is looking for highly motivated research assistants and PhD candidates. We offer an excellent working environment in a young, creative, highly motivated, and international team.

30 hours/week (prae doc), 40 hours/week (post doc)
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement:
§48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (prae doc), lit. b (post doc)

The position should develop Software Engineering methods and tools for topics such as:

  • CI/CD-Architectures and DevOps
  • Software Engineering/Software Architecture for Machine Learning
  • Service/Edge/Cloud Architectures
  • API Design/Engineering
  • Infrastructure-as-Code or
  • Blockchain Software Engineering

A successfully completed master's degree or equivalent (for prae doc candidates) and a doctoral degree/PhD or similar qualification (for all post doc candidates) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a closely related field is required, whereby knowledge of computer science is assumed to be a given. Excellent English and German language skills (written and spoken) are preferred.

The position is initially limited to two years with the possibility of extension.
